Principal s Message
Hello Jaguars and Health Professions High School Friends and Families!
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! I am proud to serve as Principal of Health Professions High School and passionate about the outstanding educational opportunities and services we are able to provide to our students in a small school setting.
Several of my lifelong passions include healthcare, travel and equity in education. I have a Masters Degree in Education Administration and an Education Specialist Credential, and my undergraduate coursework included many science and nursing courses. Throughout my career in education, I have served in several different capacities, including as a Resource Specialist, Special Education Department Chair, Assistant Principal of a large comprehensive high school, and since November of 2023, as Principal of Health Professions High School. Over the last 13 years in classrooms and schools, I have strived to cultivate programs and communities where all students have equitable opportunities to succeed at high levels. I believe that with high quality teaching, engaging curriculum, and the appropriate support every student is capable of learning, achieving at high levels, and graduating college and career ready!
HPHS is well known in the Sacramento region as a model Career and Technical Education High School focusing on the Patient Care Pathway. We are proud to partner with local colleges and industry experts to provide students with rich experiences in a variety of healthcare settings. Our students participate in work-based learning opportunities, earn industry certifications and have the opportunity to take college classes. My priority is to provide leadership that will facilitate and support our CTE program, community partnerships, and student engagement and success, all while our Jaguars explore medical professions, earn college credits and enjoy a culturally-relevant and rich high school experience.
This year, in partnership with FACES for the Future, the K-16 Collaborative, and Golden State Pathways we will be offering students the opportunity to earn a Community Health Worker Certification from UC Merced and Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant Certifications. We value our partnerships with local industry professionals and educational institutions. It is through these partnerships that we are able to offer our students a high quality Patient Care Pathway including the certification programs and work-based learning opportunities that inspire and prepare our students to be future leaders in the healthcare field.
Thank you for visiting the Health Professions High School Website. I look forward to a fun and exciting year and for the opportunity to work together to support your student’s success!
